Kamal Al Mansour

Mansour's paintings are very personal, humanistic, capturing the social, political and spiritual frameworks as prisms of life. He directly confronts viewers, engaging them in a visual discourse. His draftsmanship is influenced by Charles White and John Biggers. His use of assemblage and collage is influenced by German political photomontage artist John Heartfield, Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews and LA’s assemblage movement of the 1960s-1970s. When combining painting and digital media, Monsour’s singular style is both cutting-edge and traditional. He evolves traditional art forms with a digital collaboration by creating compositions that visually change perceptions and inspire dialogue in and beyond the diaspora. His art is the result of a creative continuum—eternal expressions in artistic terms; human interactions in realistic terms—of our life experiences, through a diasporic and universal lens.
