Adam Forfang

For Adam, modern painting in the 21st Century must address the digital age, and how it affects our sense of perception, our bodies, consciousness, beauty and reality. Moreover, painting throughout the ages was used as a visual language. Language is humanity’s most spectacular open-source project, and directly relates to the way we transfer information to one another through time. Adam was born in San Pablo and grew up in the surrounding Bay Area. He received his BFA in Drawing and Painting from the Academy of Art University. As a painter, he is primarily concerned with color, texture, shape and geometry. Since 2002, Adam’s paintings have been included in numerous solo and group shows nationwide. Past exhibits include Vose Gallery in Boston, MA, Principle Gallery in Alexandria, VA and the Triton Art Museum in Santa Clara, CA. His works have been featured in publications such as Southwest Art, American Art Collector, Fine Art Connoisseur, and ZYZZYVA. Active as both artist and professor, he teaches drawing and oil painting classes at the Academy of Art University. He lives and works in San Francisco's Mission District- which is a constant source of inspiration.
