Kathryn Page

Kathryn Page has lived in San Francisco since the early 1980s. She has been a practicing artist for the past twenty years. Her recent work is primarily mixed media, collage and monotype printing, frequently inspired by experiments with materials or physical processes. She often uses geographical imagery, real or imagined, as a jumping-off point. Mysteries # is an abstract collage composition of patterns created from powdered graphite and India ink applied to Yupo paper, mounted on a wood panel. Her Mysteries collages are part of a larger project, Evidence of the Sublime, in which she developed a visual vocabulary using India ink washes and powdered graphite applied to Yupo paper. This exploration eventually morphed into a meditation on the layers of meaning imbedded in everyday experience.
