Andrea Arroyo

Andrea Arroyo’s work examines the status of women in society, exploring concepts like femininity, identity and belonging. She is inspired by the stories of women (from world history and mythology, to contemporary women warriors.) By connecting the experiences of people across borders, languages, and cultures, she celebrates human resilience and imagination. Andrea’s practice has been impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic in many ways, including the postponement of exhibitions and large public art projects. Since the lockdown started, she has been creating intimate studio works that focus on human connection, solidarity and tenderness.
