Karen Folgner

In her practice, Karen goes in and out of phases of doing abstract then figurative work. She feels figurative uses another part of her brain. When she works with representation in mind, she pays attention to color, balance, texture and form, just as she would in any of my abstract paintings. Each piece is intended to evoke an essence of a moment, often times a bookmark in her personal life. During the pandemic, Karen believes she was able to develop her mark as an artist greatly. She has a student's mindset and will always continue to strive for growth.
