Kevin Mosley

The absolutes of mathematics support Kevin Mosley’s focus on grids and patterns. He enjoys the entire process, from calculating the Fibonacci sequence by hand to choosing the colors and to finding the pattern that emerges. He makes his work using acrylic, enamel, glass, ink, leaf, paper, polyurethane and wood. Most pieces use 10 randomly selected colors to represent digits one through nine and zero. Using these colors he does mathematics, count numbers and write encrypted language. While a piece's information may be of some interest more important to him is the patterns that emerge as the colors proceed across, down and through a piece, regardless its size or shape.
