Sarena Rosenfield

Born in New York in 1940, both of Sarena’s parents were artists. Her father was an architect who also painted in water colors. Her mother, Rosalie, was a painter, as well as a clothing designer and book illustrator. She has a degree from Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles and studied further with Otis instructor, artist and illustrator, Joe Magnunai. Her paintings are difficult to classify, as they contain both fauvism and expressionist elements in a figurative setting. Her work is painterly, and she formulates her own varnishes. Sarena’s works are exhibited internationally, including Europe and Africa. Cities within the United States in which she regularly exhibits include New York, Honolulu, New Orleans, Los Angeles and San Francisco. A partial list of collector’s includes the following institutions: Homart Corp, Tishman Corp, 20th Century Fox Studio, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Columbia Tri Star Studio, Disney Corp. and the Center for German Expressionist Studies. Individual collectors include Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid, Pierce Brosnan , Barbie Benton and George Gradow, Jeff & Luella Kanew and Tom Whalen.
