Carol Massa

In the act of painting, New York artist Carol Massa translates her earlier career as a printmaker to canvas by way of abstract expressionism. Her involvement with movement and stillness, color and texture reflect her personal journey. The freedom and spontaneity found throughout her paintings is released by working with rhythmic marks from the brush and roller. Massa draws inspiration from nature, and her primary focus is opposite forces coming together. Massa began her studies in the arts in the early 70's. Received two scholarships for Drawing and Printmaking, while attending Miami Dade College. In 1980 her first one woman show was held at NYU galleries in New York City. From this point, she began entering competition show and her work has been shown at the National Academy of Design, NY Bergen Museum of Arts & Science, and NJ Bradley National Prints & Drawings among many others.
