Serving People Who Use Substances

Harm reduction informs every part of the work AHP does. Harm reduction is the belief that people are the experts in their own lives, and that as service providers we can support clients in taking steps to reduce harms such as HIV, HCV, and overdose using the client’s own goal, values, needs and circumstances as guides rather than imposing our own goals. Virtually all of our trainings and publications are grounded in harm reduction principles. In addition, there are trainings specifically focused on harm reduction with people who use substances:

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Tell us your training needs and we will get back to you.
