Jennifer Berkowitz

The Wasteland is a series that explores dislocation, disintegration, dismantling of family, and upturning of norms. A world on its side. The body/nature fragmented, amputated, submerged. Trees reach with no arms. Houses try to stand without foundations. The title of the series is inspired by the poem The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot, written after WWI, prophetically linked and relevant to our current existential crisis--the Covid pandemic. Jennifer’s art was recently exhibited in the de Young Open Exhibition. Her art is also on display at the SFMOMA Artists Gallery and appears in a variety of group shows.
