Bibby Gignilliat

As a recovering perfectionist Bibby Gignilliat chooses to work in mixed media using collage and acrylic because it’s forgiving. She loves bold colors, geometric shapes and text which come alive with whimsy on wood panels and paper. She is happiest when she is drawing outside the lines on the canvas and in life. Her work is inspired by her own personal growth and the realization that the only limits she faces are self-imposed. Art allows her to let go of control and surrender to the painting in front of her. Each piece expresses a feeling she is  experiencing, an aspect of growth she is facing, or a question she is contemplating as she creates it. Her work was recently selected for inclusion in the de Young Open exhibition. It is available through her studio, SFMOMA Artists Gallery in Fort Mason, and Sloan Miyasato at the SF Design Center.
